Shorter periods of daylight in the winter months mean we do more driving in the dusk or dark. Are your headlights as bright as they could be?
In order for you to see as much of the road as possible and make your vehicle more visible to other drivers, your headlight lenses need to be clean and clear. If the lenses have turned cloudy or yellow, you may benefit from headlight restoration.
If your lenses are clear, check the brightness of the bulbs against the wall of your garage or a building. When you turn on your headlights, the light reflected on the wall should be bright and white. If it’s dim or hazy around the edges, replace the bulbs. You can get them at any automotive supply store, just check your vehicle’s owner’s manual for specifications.
