Wiper blades are finicky old technology that need proper care, or they will either break or possibly even damage your windshield! Did you know that if you leave your wiper blades upright in a snowstorm they could potentially snap down in the wind and crack your windshield? That isn’t the only thing that can go wrong with your wipers, so avoid these following things to protect your blades and your glass:
- Don’t leave your wiper blades on when you park/turn off your vehicle
- Don’t lift up your wiper blades in a snowstorm (try sheathing them in a plastic bag instead)
- Don’t let snow and ice get packed on and around your wiper blades
- Replace your wiper blades often; they are easy to install and inexpensive
