Does your vehicle’s windshield have a heated wiper area?
Much like your rear window glass, some windshields have heating elements that warm the glass in the area where your windshield wiper blades sit.
The heated windshield feature two main benefits:
- Increasing windshield defrost time
- Preventing windshield wipers from freezing to the glass
Generally, the heated wiper zone is controlled by a switch near the windshield wiper controls or the defrost system. Check your owners’ manual for details.
It’s easy to tell if your windshield has a heated wiper zone. Just lift the wiper blades and see if there’s a heating element on the glass. If you do have a heated wiper zone, make sure to let us know when you contact us for a repair or replacement.
